Some outcomes of her work appear as the Nursery Gardeners Archive at <a href=\"http:\/\/nurserygardeners.com\/\">nurserygardeners.com<\/a> and the William Hogarth Trust&#8217;s website.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/valbott.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/flood_the_brentford_flood-cover.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-710\" title=\"flood_the_brentford_flood cover\" src=\"https:\/\/valbott.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/flood_the_brentford_flood-cover-221x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"245\" height=\"329\" \/><\/a>Her book <em>Flood!<\/em> on the Brentford Flood of 1841 won the London &amp; Middlesex Archaeological Society&#8217;s first Publications Award in 2003.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/valbott.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/Hogarths-House-Scala-cover-web.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-709\" title=\"Hogarth's House Scala cover web\" src=\"https:\/\/valbott.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/Hogarths-House-Scala-cover-web-264x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"222\" height=\"246\" \/><\/a> Val&#8217;s recent research on Hogarth&#8217;s House, identifying its likely builders, the Hogarth family&#8217;s circle of friends and neighbours and most of the past occupants, was published by Scala Books in 2012. Val co-ordinated a major refurbishment and redisplay of the House, completed the previous year.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/valbott.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/Children-book-cover-final.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-788\" src=\"https:\/\/valbott.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/Children-book-cover-final-266x300.jpg\" alt=\"Children book cover final\" width=\"224\" height=\"252\" srcset=\"https:\/\/valbott.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/Children-book-cover-final-266x300.jpg 266w, https:\/\/valbott.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/Children-book-cover-final.jpg 489w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 224px) 100vw, 224px\" \/><\/a>A research project for an exhibition at the House in 2013 was carried out with the help of three other members of the Brentford &amp; Chiswick Local History Society. It generated more material than could be included in the exhibition and this formed the basis for <em>Chiswick&#8217;s Children 1750-1800<\/em>.\u00a0 Well illustrated and beautifully designed by Toni\u00a0 Marshall (who also designed <em>Flood!<\/em>), it was published by\u00a0 Heritage Publications (Hounslow Council).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/valbott.co.uk\/?attachment_id=892\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-892\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-892 \" src=\"https:\/\/valbott.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/Gunnersbury_final_cover-1-262x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"213\" height=\"243\" srcset=\"https:\/\/valbott.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/Gunnersbury_final_cover-1-262x300.jpg 262w, https:\/\/valbott.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/Gunnersbury_final_cover-1-768x879.jpg 768w, https:\/\/valbott.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/Gunnersbury_final_cover-1-894x1024.jpg 894w, https:\/\/valbott.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/Gunnersbury_final_cover-1.jpg 1961w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 213px) 100vw, 213px\" \/><\/a>Another book from Scala Publications, a history of Gunnersbury Park, written by James Wisdom and Val Bott, was published in March 2018.
