A Scoping Survey on Human Remains in Museums

This survey of a sample of English museums was commissioned by the Department for Culture Media and Sport Working Party on Human Remains in 2003; Jane Weeks led the project. A sensitive and complex subject, which museums with relevant collections but without appropriate curatorial expertise found particularly difficult.

The study used a combination of carefully worded short questionnaires with telephone and email follow-ups and obtained a 92% return.
